About Jodie Bennett
Jodie Bennett is a 34-year-old writer and content creator with a passion for Science, Technology, and Automotive. Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Jodie developed an interest in these fields from a young age, inspired by her father who was an automotive engineer.
After graduating from high school, Jodie attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied Mechanical Engineering. During her time at Berkeley, Jodie became involved in a number of student organizations and research projects, including an internship at Tesla, where she worked on the development of their first electric sports car.
Upon graduation, Jodie started her career as an engineer at General Motors, where she worked for several years before deciding to pursue her passion for writing. Jodie began her writing career as a freelance automotive journalist, covering the latest news and developments in the industry.
Over time, Jodie expanded her interests to include Science and Technology, and started “The Practical Dilettante” blog in order to share her knowledge and experience with a wider audience. Her writing is known for being informative, engaging, and accessible to readers of all backgrounds.
In addition to her writing, Jodie is also a certified mechanic and enjoys tinkering with cars in her free time. She currently lives in Portland, Oregon, where she enjoys hiking, biking, and exploring the city’s many food and beverage offerings.
